Megha Agrawal, M.D., was born in Dallas and graduated Cum Laude from The Hockaday School. She then attended Stanford University, where she majored in Economics and minored in Biology and graduated with distinction (top 15%). She returned to Texas to attend Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. After earning her M.D., she did her intern year in Medicine at Kaiser Permanente Oakland Medical Center in California. She then completed her residency in Ophthalmology at the Cullen Eye Institute at the Baylor College of Medicine.
Selected for the Gold Humanism Award recognizing physicians who demonstrate excellence in compassionate patient care, leadership, and dedication to service, Dr. Agrawal is devoted to helping patients. She is proficient in manual cataract surgery, including the placement of toric intraocular lenses for astigmatism, and certified in laser-assisted cataract surgery. She is also experienced in surgical and medical glaucoma management, oculoplastic surgery, and medical management of retinal disease, which includes laser treatments and intravitreal injections.
Dr. Agrawal is a member of the Gold Humanism Honor Society, the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society, the Texas Medical Association, and the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Her parents are both physicians, and her father, an interventional cardiologist, has practiced in Garland for almost 40 years. She also speaks fluent Spanish and Hindi.
